The estate is located in Emilia Romagna, on the foothills of Apennins, in the Colli Piacentini area.
From 350 to 600 meters high, the vineyard spreads on 5,5 ha, the name is linked to the mountain surrounding the estate and the locality where the vines are planted.
The climate there is very hot and dry, but the fluctuation in between days and nights helps keeping freshness and minerality in the wines.
In 2006, Giulio Armani has created the estate, first with a 30 years old vineyard rent on 2 ha.
All grape varieties are white – with mainly local grapes : 25% Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, 25% Ortrugo, 25% Marsanne and the rest with an old variety non planted anymore.
The whole production will follow the same rules as for red wine making. The grapes are destemmed, crushed and then maintained in vat several months in contact skin-juice. That way all tannins, polyphenols, which are in the skin can migrate to the must/wine. The wines are known for their nice orange color, they present a mineral nose, lightly floral, the mouth is structured with a nice length.
